Peanut Butter Bars-no baking required

A couple of weeks ago we made peanut butter bars for playgroup. I found the recipe on The kids loved ‘cooking’ and even with a playgroup of 16 kids everyone had a turn helping and it turned out deliciously. We didn’t have the perfect measurements so this recipe is a little forgiving if you don’t get the ingredients just right. It’s also a perfect recipe  to make without a full kitchen. All you need is a microwave and a refrigerator.

Mix together in a bowl:

  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter

You may have to use your hands to get it really mixed together. press into a 9 x 13 pan. We first sprinkled the pan with powdered sugar because it felt a little sticky.

Microwave the following for about 90 seconds (time varies by microwave)

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter

Mix together. Then pour chocolate on top of the peanut butter mixture. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Cut and serve.
